CHALLENGEFAMILY has decided to expand the successful European Money Ranking in 2018 to a so-called CHALLENGEFAMILY World Ranking. http://www.challenge-family.com/news/challenge-family-introduces-a-world-ranking-for-pro-athletes/At a glance, it looks like they are trying to make a move on WTC, but without the $$$. Compare to WTC payouts, where this is peanuts compared to some of the regional championships:
http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/organizations/pro-membership/event-registration.aspx#axzz5CNMkPdHsChallenge has a prize purse worth "a minimum of" 150,000 Euros for The Championship, vs. $650,000 for Kona (my math tells me that's 3.5x more). But this announcement sounds like something closer to the Triple Crown $1 million payout. On a tinier scale.
